Acer Aspire R14 R5-471T-52EE Laptop Review
- Has an Intel Core i5 that is great for performance.
- Intel HD Graphics 4400 with shared graphics memory
- Touch screen with a 360-degree flip lid
- There are better options
This Acer Aspire is armed to the gills with specs: speak of a HD Graphic 15.6 inch touch screen, Flip-able 360 degrees for viewing in whatever angle you desire. A 10-hour lasting lithium-ion battery to steer your way through work and play. And all that for well under $1000. Literally $700 for a core i5 laptop is way a good a deal to stay clear of. It gets the Editor’s choice for mid-ranged convertible laptops.

Design and features
The Acer Aspire R14 R5-471T-52EE is an extraordinary laptop. Weighing in at a stunning 4.90 lbs (2.22 kg), the Acer Aspire R14 is a product of perfect ingenuity. Its plastic chassis is charcoal black – a deep attractive color I would say– and has a 15.6-inch widescreen with touch screen. Although the frame is made of plastic, it is built very well, and is a solid construction. The screen is flip-able and goes all the way back. 360 degree back to give you the option of using it as a tab. it also allows you to adjust the screen to several levels to cut blue light emissions for your eye health. Therefore you can easily work flawlessly through long hours without tiring.
The keyboard is what I call low profile, the keys have a nice feel with a little click.
The backlit is very good too. No complaints here because this is a feature that at times comes as a luxury in mid-ranged convertible laptops. The backlit is comfortable for the eyes, not too bright, and can be turned off and on.
The power button is on the top right. Of course, this is relatively new for users used to top left or top centre power buttons, but altogether not a deal-breaker. Bluetooth works well with the external Bluetooth speakers if you got a pair. If not more reason to start shopping! For all users worried about finding help for your device, the Acer Care Center has a dedicated an app that is unobtrusive and is actually helpful in keeping your system in tip-top shape.
Worth mentioning too is the advanced Duo Band WiFi improved to this version of Acer. 2 3.0 USB ports, External SSDs and Display adapters
The large hard drive (1TB) is awesome given most laptops only have a 500GB drive. This is awesome for graphic-intensive gaming, coding, programming, video editing or even just basically watching movies. Plus, it comes with 8GB memory and can be expanded to 16GB. With both these specs, you are sure to rummage through with dozens of tabs open while browsing without worry of lag. It also streams 1080P videos incredibly online.

What I loved
There are unexpected bonuses like when you flip the lid over, the speakers notice the change of tilt and correct themselves to start coming from the right direction. The speakers are also loud enough to listen to in even in a pretty large room.
The screen has been improved to HD which is to improve your viewing experience. So now you can enjoy picture quality and videos with all the gamut of color expected.
Windows 10 is pretty easy to set up
In conclusion, the Acer Aspire R14 R5-471T-52EE is a great choice. With a $700 budget, the number of specs it brings to the table: an HD Graphic 15.6 inch touch screen, Flip-able 360 degrees for viewing touch screen, 10-hour lithium battery, 8GB Memory, core i5 and 1TB hard drive makes short work of multitasking. It gets the Editor’s choice for mid-ranged convertible laptops.
